New to KSMA ….Dalcroze Eurythmics!

January 8, 2016 By Diane Slone

dalcroze 5Welcome Rosie Mills Goh to KSMA as our Dalcroze Eurythmics instructor!

Beginning with the Spring Term, we are very excited to introduce Dalcroze Eurythmics. Dalcroze Eurythmics is a joining together of music and whole-body movement.

For the Spring Term, we will be offering classes on Thursdays. Class times will be determined based on student age, and will be assigned by KSMA. As with our other classes, these Dalcroze classes will be for participation by parent and child together.

Each class will be limited to a maximum of 10 students, and priority will be given to siblings of students currently registered at KSMA.

Register for Dalcroze Eurythmics or Request more information about the program.

December 15, 2015 By Diane Slone

gamelanRecent Updates

Here are the most recent updates from the Bali Conference Committee:

  • PIANO students will have a daily gamelan class!
  • All string students in Book 2 and above will be placed in an orchestra
  • String students in Book 1 will have a musicianship class in lieu of orchestra
  • The orchestras and gamelan will join together to perform a commissioned work at the closing ceremony
(this means that they will play something written just for them to play at this conference!)
  • Student model cellos will be available to rent at US$50 per instrument

Some reminders:

  • Group registration information and payment must be submitted to Ms. Lan no later than 29 January.
  • All families must submit their accommodations requests to the conference individually.  It has been suggested that we do so as quickly as possible, as accommodations are limited
