Charlotte Cheung design

It’s time for our school-wide event!

In the past we’ve gone to the Olympics and to SuZOOki–this year we’re going to be having fun at the Suzuki Carnival!  Join your friends and teachers at different booths and earn tickets–8 tickets and you get a prize!

When: Saturday, 18 June

Where: 2/F, Island ECC, 633 King’s Road, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong

Start Time: 10:30am (probably finish at 12:30pm)
***Please note that there are some activities that each group class will participate in as a unit.   The time assigned to each group class is listed in the Carnival Handbook

We’ll be going over all of the activities in our group lessons, but please have a look at our handbook to know what to expect!  And of course, ask your teacher if you have any questions.

See you at the Carnival!

Congratulations, Nicole!

rsz_img_7875_nicoleLast week marked the debut of our new KinderU Suzuki Music Academy t-shirts.

This photo is the shirt’s designer, artist and violinist Nicole Lee.

Congratulations to Nicole for the wonderful design – the shirts look great on everyone, and people will definitely be able to tell when our school is performing!

Also, congratulations to all of the artists.   The faculty voted on the design that would be used – it took three rounds of voting to make a decision because there were so many wonderful designs!

Piano Students at Steinway and Sons Hall!

May 11, 2016 By Diane Slone

by Mr. Jason

img_7801The piano group classes had a chance to go to a field trip to Wanchai Tom Lee. We were invited to play the pianos in the Steinway and Sons Hall, where they put all their Steinway and Sons, Boston, and Essex pianos. The Steinway and Sons grand pianos were beautiful! The tone was amazingly good. We selected several pieces for each group class to do a play-in. Each student played on one piano at the same time. We all had so much fun with the great pianos, and we enjoyed spending time playing piano together and learn from each other! Afterwards we went on a tour in Tom Lee to explore different instruments. This was a wonderful and memorable trip to everyone!

KSMA Welcomes Ms. Elizabeth!

April 22, 2016 By Diane Slone

????????????????????????????????????

We are very excited to announce that cellist Elizabeth Riley will be joining our faculty in August, 2016.  Ms. Elizabeth comes to us with extensive training and experience in Suzuki pedagogy, performance, early childhood education and music education.

Ms. Elizabeth has a high level of enthusiasm and energy in her teaching and personality; her cello teaching and orchestra conducting are both highly engaging.

With the arrival of Ms. Elizabeth, we are able to expand our offerings in both cello and Early Childhood, as well as implementing some new programs…stay tuned for more news!

Welcome, Ms. Elizabeth!   We look forward to seeing you in August!

The details are finally settled, so now is the time to place your t-shirt orders!

Once the order has been placed, we will begin using these as our “uniform” (wearing black dress pants/skirt on the bottom) for most performances other than our most formal concerts.   They will debut at the Starlight Recital on Saturday, 21 May, where – at the elderly home’s request – the violin/viola Twinkle Group, Lalo and Paganini Groups will perform in addition to the soloists.
