Bach in the Subway

March 18, 2017 By Diane Slone

On Saturday, 18 March, string students and their families braved the wind and met at Central Pier 9 to celebrate Bach’s 322nd birthday as part of the international Bach in the Subway celebration!
Of course, Bach (her)himself made an appearance, and led all of the viola and violin students in a parade to end our celebration.

Happy Birthday, Bach!

Oxfam Musical Marathon

February 17, 2016 By Diane Slone

Community Service Photos

We are excited that once again KSMA student families will have the opportunity to participate in the Oxfam Musical Marathon.  Through many different types of endeavours, Oxfam works to eradicate poverty worldwide.   It is so exciting that our students can have the opportunity to  use their music to directly make an important positive difference in the lives of others!

In order to participate, each student is responsible for raising a minimum of $400, which will go directly toward Oxfam‘s relief efforts.   Funds will be raised during the month of March, to be turned into to Ms. Lan no later than April 1.

Our requested date/time for playing at the marathon is Sunday, April 17, 12:00-2:00 (we will play for approximately one hour).

Service for others was one of Dr. Suzuki’s most strongly held beliefs.   How wonderful for us that we can use our music in this way!
